NOW we must cut at certain settings incase we decide to slice this orientation into boards. This is easy cutting 1-1/16 boards. I just remember that 7" is a magic setting. That is 7" works out perfect for 1-1/16" lumber with 1/8" kerf allowances. If starting at 7" is perfect for all the boards working out evenly, this is an easy reference to begin. I move my head to 7" and see that is a little low. So I add 1-3/16,(board+kerf.) 8-3/16". This looks like a thin slab so I cut at 8-3/16. This is a wide face with the slab removed, so I am ready to turn the log 90 degrees with the hydraulic log turner.
