The grind-stone does not come with the proper shape on it. We need to learn about the HUGE IMPORTANCE the shape we put on the grind-stone has to do with the depth of the gullet, grinding the back of the teeth, the proper hook angle, and THE PERFORMANCE AND THE SHARPNESS.

This is a photo of a properly dressed grinding wheel.

Dressing the grindstone every two or three sharpenings keeps the shape of the grinding surfaces correct and actually sharpens the grindstone.

A sharp grindstone will sharpen the band-saw blade BETTER.
