CLAMP p2

Cleaning the sharpener blade clamp for optimum performance.  PAGE 2  Back to Sharpening

Put a blade in your sharpener clamp. Can you easily move the blade?

If so, the clamp needs to be cleaned, or the spring tension adjusted if the clamp is cleaned and the problem still exists.

The blade must be hard to move by hand for the clamp to grip the blade properly for no movement to occur during automatic sharpening. If the blade can slip in the clamp, bad things will happen.

Cut a piece of scrap banding to stick in the groove of the clamp and scrape the bottom clean.

Scrape going both ways. Then blow out the blade track with the clamp spread open.
