Here is a 6-1/4" oak log. First cut is 6-1/4". For the second cut, roll log over so flat face is down. Just roll it by hand towards the open clamp. Cut at 5-1/8". This will later be split into two 2-1/2" pieces and includes the 1/8" kerf we use for everything.
